The promenade that runs alongside this beach is dedicated to the book of the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.  It has all types of bars, restaurants, shops and other businesses. The beach is the site for many events during the summer months , and craftwork fair is set up in the evenings.

On the eastern edge of the beach there is the current sport and fishing port of l’Escala (Port de la Clota), while to the west there is one of the entrances to the Via Brava which connects with the beach of  Port d’en Perris for  swimming in the open sea.
