This is a fine sandy beach, sheltered from the north wind, the tramuntana. It is located at the southernmost point of L’Escala. Its round shape has given rise to the suggestion that it may have been the site of an ancient sinkhole, a depression which has then been further eroded by the action of the sea. There are a number of tourist facilities on the promenade and more services on the beach itself, including disabled toilets. Next to the Montgrí, Medes and Baix Ter Natural Park, it offers visitors a coastal footpath towards Ventosa Point or to climb the Montgó Tower, which was built to warn of attacks by pirates. Car park close to the beach.
